If my ex-stepmom divorced my dad should I talk to her?

Would it be creepy to talk to her again? Does divorce mean you hate your former family also?

Of course, it’s your call. Why would it be creepy? She was once a maternal figure in your life, and if you were close to her, I see no reason why you should not keep contact with her.

What happened between your father and step mother is of no consequence to your relationship with your step mother. You need not “hate” her just because your dad and her got divorced. It’s okay to feel confused, and it’s absolutely okay to feel lost, but family will always be family. You cannot hate family unless they have wronged in you some way.

Although, I would consult your dad before you contact your former step mother. You may want to take his feelings into consideration also, but ultimately, it is always YOUR decision.

If y'all were close then it's not wrong to reach out. Your parents' problems were their own and shouldn't affect your relationship with those people. Unless something really awful happened I guess.
