Try not to take sides and try listen to the both of them and try to figure out why they want a divorce all of a sudden. It’s ok for you to put your foot down to both of them and expressing your feelings of concern , and tell the both of them that you aren’t taking sides , sometimes being the outsider looking i. has helped people see things differently than what they actually feel to help put things in perspective. But understand you can’t make their decision n for them , they have to figure that out on their own

Now, I am assuming that the reason for this possible divorce is NOT over something like adultery or abuse, but that they seem to be having some other issues.

If so, ask them why did they get married to begin with.
Put them together seated next to each other and ask them that.

    I am serious.

When I got married almost 23 years ago, the officiant was a judge who gave us some advice. Basically, when the going gets tough, always go back to what brought you two together to get married. It does have something of a salving effect.

You’re in your 30s. Adult enough that your parents feel free to do what they please amongst each other without worrying about what YOU may want or need. Many people wait till their kids are “safely” in their 20s to finally split up. Usually it’s not a surprise to their kids. It just means split holidays eo all the psychological trauma children supposedly go through with divorce.

It’s not about you. Let your parents duke this out with one another in private.

Be supportive of both of them and their decision. Keep up with them, make sure they're okay. It'll probably be a hard process for them.

I know this is difficult situation for you, but you should try to convince both of them. You can remembered them their good happy moments, the moments where they stood together & how they fought with challenges in their past life.
I am sure, they will change the decision.

welcome to the club. at least you are a lot older than i was so i think you would handle it way better. you don't really need to react. just accept it. since you're in your 30's, an adult, it won't change much of your life as it is now.

For real? 🤔 after 20 or 30 years of marriage i rarely see anyone getting a divorce!

They better stay with each other, unless they are extremly dumb!

It will probably be tough for you, but if I were you I'd hang back, listen to both sides. but try to not get dragged into taking sides.

Are they better off separated? Try to support them through this. React as a mature person who respects their wishes.

Be there and be supportive of them both. Don’t be a busy body and tell each other what the other one says about the other person.

You're 31? It shouldn't matter to you. You should just want them to be happy and maybe they are better off separated. Nothing is keeping you from having a relationship with both of them.

Try to get them interested in eachother again, things you used to all do together that you all enjoyed. Remind them of the good times.
