Dealing with being single?

So I am single again after being married for 10 years. After my divorce, I jumped into a friends with benefits relationship for 3 months with someone who was 8 years younger than me. Obviously it didn’t work out and I’m not sure how to be single again. It’s lonely. I have 2 friends who live far away who are living their own lives so I am kinda alone in dealing with this. How do other people do it?

It get's easier more one is alone. You adapt to it. Sorry your marriage nor friends with benefits worked out.
Just try to find someone but not get sexual right away. So no benefits just meet someone get to know them etc.
You've been married for a long time and got a friends with benefits right afterwards with someone younger so I doubt you need to worry about been desirable which means someone will come along hopefully they will treat you right :)

It’s about learning to improve yourself and having something for yourself such as career, personal goals, etc. it’s not easy but you can do it

Trying to adapt to being single after my wife of 20 years died has been absurdly difficult. I wouldn't suggest dating for awhile. Your brain is all frazzled and you will make poor decisions. Pretty much you'll make decisions based on not wanting to feel alone and not wanting to feel like crap. So it will lead you into making horrible decisions because you're seeking to fill the void instead of letting the void heal. Sort yourself out before you throw yourself into the world. Your instincts are too get out there and do stuff. Prove to yourself you're not useless. So you will Settle for stuff way less than you deserve. Get yourself whole before you try to conquer the world. If you try to while you're broken, you'll get broken returns. Also support groups for the win. Join a few divorce facebook groups. Widow Facebook groups saved my life and kept me grounded. My entire support and social Network is from Widow Facebook groups.. from my understanding divorce groups are the same way.
