Why is he treating me like this?

My boyfriend and I have been together for three years. We even have a son together now. Since the days leading up to his bday, which is today, he’s been pushing me away. He’s been weird and distant. I been waiting for him to tell me what he wants to do, I get nothing. He got upset with me because I didn’t take enough initiative to find out what he wants to do but how can I when he’s the one who’s been distancing himself from me? Since yesterday he has been separating himself from me. Going in other rooms of the house. No conversation, barely from him at all. He hasn’t been responding to the affection I been showing. I told him Happy Birthday this morning, he didn’t even say thank you. he just continued scrolling on his phone and that hurt. All last night he slept away from me and when I tried to be the bigger person and move closer he pushed me away and that broke me. This morning I mentioned where we could get a cake because he’s been saying he wants one, he didn’t say anything but a woman called his phone earlier. He was all smiles as she told him happy birthday over the phone. He even held a conversation with her, something I haven’t been able to get out of him and before getting off the phone he told her he appreciated her. And that really made me want to cry but I just been keeping it together because it is his day and if I ask who it was he’ll just say it’s his “cousin” like he always says about any random woman he talks to around me. I just don’t know what I did to make him treat me like this especially when I’m trying. I even told him yesterday, since he had been treating me differently, that I would leave and go back to my place and let him enjoy his bday without me because it didn’t seem like he needed me to enjoy it because he’s been pushing me away. He got upset, even begged me to stay and I did just for him to still be ignoring me and treating me the same way. Almost like taunting me because if he knew he would still do that he should have let me leave.

Why is he treating me like this?
