I do not know the details since there were none posted. I am going to assume that some traumatic event occurred that caused his reaction. If one says "it is what it is and if we are meant for each other, we will be one day" then he has walked away from the Relationship. One does not walk away from one they truly love in total disregard.
It just means whatever happens will happen
