He broke up with me because of depression but still wants to be friends? How to handle this?

He said he still loves me. Why does he still want to be friends? Should I give him space until he heals?

I personally find it almost impossible to be friends after breaking up. Especially because it’s hard to turn off my feelings instantly. So I’ll always have hope of something greater. It’s best to just cut ties, and move on. Waiting around for someone I don’t think ever works. It’s unfair to you, and honestly unfair to him.


What happens if his depression occurs again if you’re married? Is he gonna divorce you? That’d be bad. Seems like kinda an excuse to cover some other reason.


Regardless, I don’t think being friends after breakups is healthy at all. Cutting ties and finding the person for you is truly the best solution.
