It's been almost 6 months and my emotions got the best of me and I ended up texting and saying that I miss him, but if he's in a new relationship to simply ignore what I said as I don't want to be disrespectful towards anyone. Then deleted the message, minutes later and went to sleep. He blocked me that night.

Because he’s done with the relationship and he’s clearly moved on.
It hurts, but you need to move on too.
Just leave him alone and move on. Time alone to heal is in your best interest.
Some people just don’t know how to deal with things in a mature manner.
