Why would an ex unblock you?

My ex boyfriend and I broke up 7 months ago and went into no contact. Neither of us blocked each other on messaging apps though. Then around 3 months into no contact I noticed I had been blocked by him on what's app, Viber etc. Last week I noticed I have now been unblocked? He hasn't messaged me but wondering why would he even go to the effort to unblock me

Could be a couple things. First of all who broke up w who? If you broke up w him than chances are he still had feelings for you. He was just mad at the time that’s why he blocked you. Now he unblocked you in hopes that maybe you two can be together or something, to try to start talking again. Now if he broke up w you, maybe because he met someone else, chances are the grass wasn’t greener on the other side. He may have got what he wanted from her then moved on, coming back to you. Or she didn’t give into him, shut him down now he’s trying to come back to you. Now whether he’s coming back to you cause he wants a relationship again w you or he’s just trying to keep you on the back burner like I did many times for a piece of ass on the side, don’t know. Hard to say w out there being more info.

Lots of people experience this. He blocked you the first time for 2 reasons: he either hoped you would notice, or he was trying to move on with someone and wanted to close the door on you for good.

And he has unblocked you now for 3 reasons: he misses you, or things didn't work out with the other girl he moved on to, or he just feels like it's not necessary to block you anymore. Even still he may or may not reach out. I had an ex once who I noticed unblocked me like a year or 2 after the breakup, but she never contacted me and I had long moved on myself. Sometimes exes just figure it's not necessary anymore.

I'm considering unblocking my ex so I can understand the perspective. In truth? I just want to move past the anger of a break up. I'm done feeling vitriol when I think about him so, I don't need to completely avoid his profile to feel at peace. It's less about me pulling him back into my life and more letting go of him. Because once the love and the longing is gone, there's just anger. Once the anger is gone, you let them go in every way.

I say try not to read into it.

What does it matter that he's blocked or unblocked you? You don't contact him anymore and you have no need to.

Maybe he's in a relationship with someone who asked him to block you. Maybe he was angry about something in the past between you. ASK HIM. It's the only way you'll find out. But, again, does it matter?

Maybe he blocked you because he was dating someone else, and that relationship ended, so he unblocked you.

Probably want to potentially come back into your life or simply no longer care to have you blocked. Either way, I wouldn’t try to look into it or care about it. They’re an ex for a reason 😊.

Either he’s fully moved on or planning to contact you. People tend to block to moved on after a break up.
