What do you consider an ex?

I feel like people consider an ex different things so I'd like to know peoples opinions on this. Like would you count someone you were boyfriend/girlfriend with an ex from middle/highschool? What if the relationship was really short? Someone you briefly dated?

I consider them someone I used to date that there was a true mutual love. It doesn't have to be long, it can be from a long time ago also. Just because you dated someone for let's say a month, doesn't mean they didn't love you, and relationships don't always need a title.

Advice to women!: If you stay in contact with them it is toxic and can lead to problems with new people you date. Even if you're just texting, there's always an underlying sexual nature to it even if the topic is baseball.

Women who keep in touch with their exes are an issue in my opinion. It's not a deal breaker but imagine if I were texting 3 of my exes while I was hanging out in bed with my new girlfriend? How would you feel? Just flirting with a waitress is enough to set off a lot of women and that's why I don't do it.

Just because it's through text or a call doesn't make it any different. Like I said it's not a deal breaker but an ex should be considered someone you used to.

It's almost ubiquitous among men that we would prefer you didn't, and pretend it's vice versa! It is almost a double standard honestly.

I would never call someone I briefly dated an ex, just a past guy.
And I also don't count "boyfriends" from my teenage years.

I only call 2 an ex and that based on our agreements, intentions, investments and definitely our intensity as grown ups lol.
