Dysfunctional communication skills, focusing on what the other should do rather than their choice of words or actions, prioritizing entitlement over partnership, failure to define what each can expect of each other prior to committing, failure to stay connected and nurture the relationship, and lack of consideration for how their choices impact others. Another reason happens with people who had little to no experience prior to marrying, and that is believing the grass is greener elsewhere.
