How do men feel when they see their ex again after a long time?

My ex still spends time with my brothers bc they have a close bond. I don’t mind it. We ended on good terms and I broke up with him after a few years. I said I still hope we can still say hi if we ever see each other again and not act like strangers. We saw each other from a distance but never talked.
