Imagine some scenario in which you know your ex’s lucky numbers and where they keep their tickets. You also still have a key or some other form of access to their place.
Obviously they’re a horrible person, or you’d still be together. So they owe you that money, right? Ell oh ell!
It’s enough money to know that you’ll never have to worry about money again. You wouldn’t even have to work if you didn’t want to. Would you steal a winning lottery ticket from your ex?

No, there's no reason to do that. You couldn't cash the ticket in anyway, it's their signature, not yours, on the back. Everyone knows that you should immediately sign a winning lottery ticket... to prevent theft like this.

I think the assumption in this question that the ex is a horrible person is incorrect. Anyone thinking of going this is the horrible one.

But it happens. Keeping a key after you move out, or knowing where they keep their spare. That’s pretty common, at least in my experience and observations.
