Why is my boyfriend apologizing to his ex?

This man is really having a heart to heart with his ex. Texting her asking her why did she block him etc. apologizing for his actions in the past, saying he won’t bother her anymore and too take care etc. yet he claims he’s over her?

It seems he just put you as a backup. Don't expect too much from him, or put your whole heart into him.
