My boyfriend apologized to his ex, should I be okay with this?

He told me he was starting to feel guilty for the way he treated his ex. He said that he didn’t care and treated her badly. During one of our fight, when we weren’t taking, he went to her aprtment and apologized. He told me that her boyfriend was there and that it was awkward. Should I trust what he said? I feel like it’s strange that he did this.. I didn’t really understand why that was necessary. Should I be worried?

No. You shouldn't be worried and instead give him the benefit of the doubt. He did that because it haunted him. I could relate to that, I treated one of my exes really badly and I will probably never forgive myself for it, I also wish I could take it back but things don't work that way. He wanted to be forgiven for it, humans by default need validation to feel better. The fact that he chose to do that at a time you were at odds sure does justify your worry about the topic but i can assure you it has nothing to do with his fidelity towards you. He was just feeling horrible about it and wanted closure.

It shows maturity that he wanted to apologize for being a jerk. It doesn’t necessarily mean he wants to be with her, just that he regrets treating her poorly. Of course you should be okay with this.
