Why do some people want to get back or attempt to catch up with their ex after a breakup?

Usually it cones down to breaking routine and leaving your comfort zone. So sometimes even if the relationship didn't work, it was all you knew for a long period of time. As humans it's hard for us to break our set routines and hard to leave our comfort zones. So just instinctually we'll sometimes try to dip our toe back in to what we found to be "normal" instead of just breaking clean and doing something new.

It can work out for a very small percentage of couples who have made the changes…

it worked out for us. We broke up for a yr. made changes… got back… made more changes and now married and things have been amazing because we worked hard to fix ourselves for the better of our relationship.

most people point fingers and not willing to put in the work. So it repeats and ends again.

Because they could still have feelings for them. Just because people break up doesn't mean that they have to hate or dislike each other. There arev biggg both of them that's the question way to many scenarios where the cause was not one another. Hell, i still love one of my exes

And the same could be said for those who are not on to be social. Whos intent validation of some sort, because they are not getting any while in the presence of others. The reality of the situation is that by nature we are social seeking creatures…. No body wants be alone, and anybody who says they do doesn't understand what it means to be alone
