I reached out to my ex after 5 years of not speaking to him,( saying how I loved him and wish him the best) worst decision ever, he sent me a message saying how I’m harassing him and he’s calling the cops on me, my whole life flash before my eyes, the amount of pain, anxiety and my whole body start trembling and I felt like my life shorten that day because my heart felt like it was puntured… I still miss him but imagine how he felt, and how does he feels about you?

I'm sorry to hear about his answer to you. Though it means that he is traumatized by something that happened here, this is the only possible explanation to such an answer from him. It's a special case and it shouldn't be projected as a general case like it is right now

Nothing wrong or embarrassing in checking up on people that mattered to you, but do consider, in all honesty, why you want to do it. It could be just for checking up, or it could be for other reasons, only you can know this :)
