Am I wrong for not wanting my children to be around my ex wife's boyfriend who is a convicted pedophile, rapist, and felon?

I may have over reacted, But i found out recently that my ex wife is with a new man, background check shows the man is a recently released, and required to register, child molester, and rapist. He also has other felony charges. Upon finding that out, i filed for an emergency hearing with the court, and stopped any visitation with my ex wife for my 12 year old son and 14 year old daughter. This was also after my daughter told me that her moms new boyfriend makes her very uncomfortable with how she talks, and tries to touch her a lot. I basically told her that until she leaves her new boyfriend she would not ever see her children. I the courts sided with me.
