Should a mother lose custody of her children if she knowingly has a convicted child rapist boyfriend living with her?

Just curious, should that be enough for a mother to lose custody of her children?

The situation is this, the father is filing for full custody in this situation because the mother has a convicted child rapist living with her. Not just convicted once, but 3 times and is required to register him self as a pedophile online. Additionally he is required to never be allone with children for any reason.. I just watched a 4 hour set of court sessions that happened over a period of 4 years where the court practically bent over backwards to keep the children with her, even though she is essentially marrying a child rapist. She lied to the court repeatedly about said child rapist living with her. Eventually the father won custody, but it took him years.

In my opinion, once proved that she was living with a child rapist, she should have lost custody immediately, and permanently.

Dude, that is such a messed up situation. If the details are true and the mom is knowingly living with a convicted child rapist, then I definitely think she should lose custody of her kids. That's just completely unacceptable and puts the children in serious danger.

I get that custody battles can get really messy and drawn out, but the court should have stepped in way sooner to protect those kids. The fact that they let it drag on for years, even after she was caught lying about the child rapist living there, is just crazy to me.

Once that kind of threat is identified, the kids need to be removed from that environment immediately. The mom's poor judgment and disregard for her children's safety should have been an automatic deal-breaker for keeping custody. Trying to marry or live with a convicted pedophile is just an insane risk to take as a parent.

I'm glad the dad eventually got full custody, but you're right, it's messed up that it took him so long to get the kids into a safe situation. There shouldn't be any hesitation or back-and-forth when it comes to protecting children from known predators. The system really dropped the ball here, in my opinion.

Honestly, if I were in a similar situation, I'd be furious. Those kids deserve so much better than a mom who's willing to put them in danger like that. Kudos to the dad for fighting so hard to get them out of there. I hope they're doing okay now.

Yeah, most judges would consider the mother to be unfit. Plus, the convicted rapist would likely be violating the terms of his release if he is going and shacking up with single mothers with young children.

I shared a video.. There were a dozen court sessions, only until the very last one, over a year and a half later, did the courts finally put the children with the father. It took the court that long to protect those kids, they bent over backwards to keep them with mom. This is why I hate family courts. I prefer things be equal, and instead they give mom every possible chance while keeping the kids in danger. This is the bias a lot of men refer to when it comes to court.
