Should I just leave my ex alone forever?

My ex is in a relationship and still talks to me. I never contact him first it’s always him. When they first got together he told me that his girlfriend told him to block me and he did but he was still contacting me for months. Months later his girlfriend texts me to stop talking to him. I did but he still contacts me and I respond. Few days later she calls and tells me to stop texting his phone and leave him alone but I’m 100% sure he’s still going to contact me.
