How to deal with being in a physical and verbally abusive relationship when there is kids involved?

I had been physical abuse by my child father so many times from choking me to him slapping my body to the floor and I got fed up with it. So now we not living together but he wants to see his son but I'm afraid if I come around him with our son he would hurt me again and again.

He also said he won't help me with our son unless he be around his son but everytime I around him he always physically abuse me somehow

For physical hits definitely a restraining order. For hurt words, have a friend present as a witness and warn him he is too harsh.

I cannot tell you what to do. All I can say is that the way he treats you is not normal, acceptable or legal. I'm not sure where you live, but at least in Australia there are shelters if you choose to leave. (They tend to be fully booked more nights than not.) There are also support lines. If you wish to leave, I would encourage you to form a plan. Leaving can be the most dangerous stage in an abusive relationship.

Have you filed a restraining order? I think that's the safest thing to do. If he cannot control his temper then I would be worried leaving your kids alone with him. You also have to realize he is setting an example for your kids.
