When is Ghosting okay?

Some people aren't worth the hassle of getting an official "break up", so when do you think it's okay to just ghost someone?

I was on youtube and I came across a person to designed a dating app for 50 year old singles. The app was designed so that you were not allowed to ghost. Ghosting is rude. And another bad thing it does is, the person who got ghosted never got a chance to learn how to improve, cause they got no idea what they did wrong.

The answer is in your question: when a person isn't worth the hassle of getting an official "break up" then go ahead and ghost. Also when you're not interested in a person ghosting can be the most effective way to send them the 'message' that you're clearly not interested.

never ghosting is hurtful and shows how little you really care in a relationship and hurts both parties involved. I am gonna be blunt but ghosting is just a way to avoid saying goodbye cause you know the other person might not be to happy. I dont understand why people think ghosting is ok because in truth all you do is show who you really are and the sad part is no one sees it until it happens. The only acceptable time you can ghost someone is if they are being abuseive physically/verbally to you or threaten to hurt you in some way because at that rate they did that to themselves.

not only is ghosting unethical and wrong but it leaves one side with low self esteem and the worst part is they can't even get that closure of what it was they did so now everything they ever did and said is put on a table for them to cross examine from there goodmornings all the way to what outfit they picked and mabie even there weight depending on what insecurities they have

You know , im sure there are scenarios where its not only ok , but maybe even neccessary. You find out your new friends got issues it may be best to never contact again but for the most part I always ask that if your going to move on, at least drop me a quick line , it can be as simple as "later" , unless we had obvious differences at least im not trying to contact you all my waking hours. And honestly id guess. maybe 50percent do. To just ghost someone seems a somewhat cowardly way to break off whatever you and the ghosted shared.

I'd say when the person being ghosted is truly rude or inappropriate (asking for risqué pics, etc), verbally abusive, genuinely creepy, etc. Or if they just don't know how to take 'no' as an answer.

Inadequate social status or compatability, finding a bigger fish, non-confrontational, bored... all not good.

When they’re being really annoying or definitely if they’re being threatening. You really should give the annoying ones the courtesy of telling them why you don’t want to talk anymore, but I get why sometimes it isn’t worth the effort.
