Why don't men file for Divorce if there are unhappy or no longer love the wife?

I ask because the statics show mostly women file for divorce. My theory some men purposely self sabotage, cheats, emotionally checks out, etc...

Some men are the only breadwinner and he has to provide for the family. After years of that, he may feel like juat a provider, dad and husband. He may also feel unappreciated and his needs fo unmet.

I understand if kids are involved. Honestly, the kids will feel the tension of the broken union.

Why do "some " men do foolish things so the women is the one to be the bad guy, to do the leg work of filling for divorce.

Most likely, it's because he's going to get destroyed in a divorce, so as much as it sucks, he's better off, financially, just staying where he is.

Divorce courts heavily favor the wife, so even if the husband does file, he's most likely going to lose the house, the kids, half (or more) of the money, and be saddled with alimony & child support.

He'll be paying all the same bills he does, now, plus have to pay for a second home for himself, and see his children less. It really does make more sense for a man to remain in a bad marriage.

Divorce is a financial liability for men, and a terrifying prospect.

I mean, I'm not condoning stuff like cheating, even in that case, but yeah; sometimes the guy is quite literally stuck in a bad marriage.

Filing for divorce is essentially self sabotage for a man, so his only real options are to try and fix the marriage, or suffer.

I AGREE! That's the sad reality for some men. A women his wife may cheat and he continues to be the breadwinner while she is lazy and stays ay home with the kids. If he gets a divorce its alimony and child support. Half of everything he's worked for! He's fucked!

Subconsciously, men may realize that their physical and mental well-being is tied to the "infrastructure" of the marriage, even if the "romance" is dead.

@nikki1989 Not true. Marriage provides no health benefits for men. When married men and single men of the same income level are compared, the supposed health benefits of marriage are nowhere to be seen.

The reason this obvious falsehood is so widely believed, is that for men, marriage is a luxury good that can only those at or above a certain income level can afford. So when you compare married men, who CAN afford the luxury good, with single men, some of whom CAN'T afford the luxury good, obviously the married men, on average, are going to be more prosperous. And with that increased prosperity comes advantages in other areas, including health.

Getting married doesn't make a man healthier. The better health is a result of the more abundant resources, which is why the man is able to get married.

Correlation is not cause. Porsche drivers, on average, have higher incomes than people who don't drive Porsches. But that doesn't mean a person can raise his or her income by buying a Porsche.

Men are lower maintenance.
Women have a higher demand of what they want in a marriage. If their husband crosses that line, they don’t have the amount of patience as men do when they cross our lines.
