Should I ignore my ex’s angry texts or respond after our breakup?

My boyfriend of two years told me he needs another break cause he can't handle fighting with me and told me he will still be my friend cause I am going through a hard time but he was seeing me and cuddling and when I would initiate sex he would do it and then try to send me home and say "I told you were taking a break, you initiated the sex". So I broke up with him and removed my belongings from his house. I also found out I need to move soon and we had plans I'd move in when my lease is up and he told me I'd need to find another apartment and wasn't moving in anymore. Now be is acting like this? He deleted our photos from everywhere and had his friends block me. Now he's blowing up my phone mean things saying it's messed up I'm already on a dating app. I mean what did he expect? I love him deeply and was hoping if I left he would see he's not giving me what I need and step up

I do but he stepped back from the relationship and said he needs a break and I do not feel like I should have wait around for someone to be what I deserve, so I was hoping the consequences would show him he needs to step up
