My ex is texting me again: should I respond or ignore him?

My ex casual friend with benefits told me exactly a week ago that he met someone and the relationship is getting serious.
He said we shouldn’t be involved anymore.
I told him that I agree and we can’t be involved if that’s the case and ask him not to contact me.
He agreed. Now it’s been less than a week after that and he’s texting me some silly memes.
I was so furious when I saw his text.
I haven’t responded. Should I ignore him or text him and give him a piece of mind?
