Why did ex-fling add me on Facebook even though he has a girlfriend?

I was seeing a guy for two months and then it ended badly and he told me he didn't want to be friends anymore so I deleted him off Facebook because I don't need someone in my life who doesn't want me in theirs. Two months later he added me on Facebook again. I accepted because I was worried if I didn't he would think I still cared about him. But his Facebook is just filled with lovey dovey posts from his girlfriend and he hasn't written to me or anything so what's the point of adding me in the first place? We're in two separate countries so not like we were ever going to bump into each other again. Should I send him a message asking why or just delete him again?

Two reasons. If you had sex with him then having some kind of connection leaves the door open that you can reconnect and have sex again. Yup! That's how it was for an ex fling and me. Two years later he was hurt I deleted him. We talk or text once in awhile but I've always felt that even though he wants to be "just friends" he needs that connection to keep me in the rotation for another possible hook up.
