Essentially this girl was talking to me all weekend and then one day at lunch she asked for me to save her a seat next to me. Then while talking she continually moves closer till our arms are touching and she is almost leaning on me. Is this flirting or could she just consider me a close friend.

As a user of that technique, I'm going to call that flirting. When I like a guy, I try to be physically close to him in subtle ways. Not all up in their face, but standing near him, or "oh, I just happened to be sitting so close to you that our arms are touching, but I'm not gonna acknowledge it because I don't want you to think it is a huge deal to me--but I'm secretly doing cartwheels in my head." lol
