a guy who I was friends with a few years ago and started talking to again. His mom put an 'x' at the end of a text to me. and told my mom that she wants me and her son to get together. I get the idea she must like me

No I don't think it good. Why I feel so? Well I think the guy should like you in that way, before his mom does. Do you know what way the guy likes you? Its like she's imposing her wishes on him if parents do this to their child than the son/daughter needs to meet me or they will suffer :D
