+1 yI'm a gamer guy. And to be brutally honest, I've been pissed off at Gamer Girls for over a decade now. Back in school I knew plenty of girls who played video games, but none of them sat at the nerd table with us hardcore gamers and played Pokemon cards or Magic the Gathering with us. They didn't want to affiliate with us because they might get our nerd cooties and be deemed unpopular. So they all came to school in their Abercrombie & Fitch or Aeropostale shirts, and their birkenstocks and ugg boots, and sat with the preps and worried more about their popularity than having fun with like-minded people.
The vast majority of gamer girls I've met also sucked. Most of them sat around bragging about being a girl, and expected everyone else to coddle them and let them win just because they have a vagina. A lot of them were attention whores. The ones who weren't seemed to be hardcore bitches. One time a girl zealot rushed my neighbor in a game of Phantom on Starcraft 2. I just sent a couple of void rays into her base, walled off my ramp with cannons, and laughed as her 40 zealots died trying to get past my cannon wall as I sniped all her pylons with my void rays. Later on I found out she was the number 10 ranked player in the world. That's hilarious because I'm a bronze league n00b, basically a nobody in that game, and I owned her shit so fucking easy. After that she'd just leave the lobby whenever she seen I was in there.
So yeah, I honestly prefer to date non-gamer girls than to date gamer girls who think they're better than gamer guys. Non-gamer girls don't act so damn stuck up when they find out I'm a nerd who watches cartoons and play video games. But for some reason gamer girls who do those things themselves see that as a turn-off, something that makes me less of a man in their eyes, and I think that's just fucking stupid and hypocritical. It's like if male basketball players refused to date girls on the women's basketball team for being losers...

+1 yI'm hit or miss with it. I game but I don't have the new consoles. I feel gaming is going downhill in a lot of ways. But I still like the games I got. I could easily date a girl gamer as long as they wanted to do other things. I go to the gym and like to do things as well as game. Girls who have dated gamers have struggled because a lot of them play MMOs like WoW and EQ and their relationships crumbled. While an organization like OLGANON gets a shitload of hate from gamer communities... it's a very real problem.
I used to be super hooked on gaming and when I finally cut down my gaming, I noticed how bland it got nowadays. It easily causes depression because the day technically gets wasted away. It's one thing to have a marathon on a new game that you're super excited for. But it is a big problem when someone games 3-4+hrs a day obsessively.
Also the prices of games and stuff nowadays is atrocious. 60 dollars for a game... then every few months 15 because of DLC they could've included in the game? No thanks...00 Reply
Depends. How much time will they spend there over the real world? I totally get gaming as a need for escape or stress relief--I do it myself for that. But not excessively. It could be fun to game together, but not for hours and hours and hours and never doing anything else.

+1 yI'm in a long-term relationship with a gamer.
The problem with that is games are addictive. At least to me. If I sit down to play, I get sucked in for hours - usually play through at least half the game in one sitting.
But I've learned to balance myself, haha.01 Reply
i would if i was as old as 14 beacause they sound good to date when you wanna after school, play vedio games, eat chips, and probally fool around a little but if the gamer is over 25 then its like pointless and really unhealthy like can it be a career choice?
018 Reply- +1 y
Gaming can be a career but as long as being healthy is involved and not being lazy
- +1 y
Yes, it can.
Who creates games? Who do you think beta tests games before they come out? Who writes countless reviews for different websites? Its not done for free, little girl.
I find your lack of knowledge about the gaming world and judgmental one sided understanding to be disturbing. - +1 y
I've beta tested and reviewed several MMO's this year. @MaskedSanity
@rUinSAYAN So girls like this still think gamers are losers? Oh well. I don't care what she thinks. I'm more concerned with enjoying my own life than pleasing some vile woman. :P - +1 y
@rUinSAYAN Well I'll be brutally honest with you here. Fuck gamer girls. Most of them keep the fact that they're a gamer a secret except for when they're online. Most of them think they're too good to date a guy who games even though they game themselves. When I was in school none of the gamer girls sat at the nerd table and played Pokemon cards or Magic the Gathering with us. I knew gamer girls back in school but they all dressed preppy and tried to fit in with the preppy kids. To be blunt, gamer girls are not gamers because they do not participate in the gamer community offline. Sure, you might see one or two bragging about being a girl on Call of Duty or Minecraft, but when those girls go to school you can bet they'll be wearing some Abercrombie & Fitch or Aeropostale shirt, along with their birkenstocks or ugg boots or whatever the fuck preps wear nowadays. I honestly prefer to date non-gamer girls because at least they aren't posers who look down on me for doing something they do.
- +1 y
@jointhepatriarchy I agree. I don't think a girl who shows of being a gamer is a real one as she is mostly doing that to seem appealing to guys, I also would just look for a down to earth one and if she plays them games well that would be cool.
you play MTG too, are you me but 10 years later? ^^ men I would be blessed if the future girl is smart enough to play that game. I am usually playing Heartstone to keep my MTG addiction calm as there is no big MTG-store nearby, at least not right now but I think someone will open one on here in the future - +1 y
Well my friend's wife can kick his ass at MTG so it's possible @rUinSAYAN. Every two or three year my little group of friends tries to get back into MTG, until I beat all their asses five or six times in a row and they get discouraged with it again. I'm so horrible. XD There's a comic shop in a city about an hour away from me that has MTG tournaments, I attended one but only won one match. Didn't do so well in the draft, but my deck was okay. And the other guys there were way more hardcore than I am.
- +1 y
@jointhepatriarchy I think the hardest one for me was when a guy at a FNM dropped a phyrexian dreadnought turn 1 (13/13) used another card to counter his effect that makes him die otherwise. I was like wtf I don't even have a phyrexian counterspell or a 0 mana one from them older packs. most anoying decks I've played against was a poxdeck that completely put my win strategy down every time..
- +1 y
Well this was a two-headed giant draft tournament, and my partner kind of screwed me over. I went with three other guys, two of which played. One of them was unemployed at the time and had no money to enter, and he's a shitty Magic player. The other one had tons of money, and is basically the only person from our high school who could stand toe to toe with me. So guess what happened? The guy who was good at Magic felt sorry for the one who sucks at it, and paid his entry fee instead of entering himself. So basically I won the first match all on my own by buffing up a Dawnbringer Charioteers, and every match after that we lost because he didn't get shit on the field and I couldn't attack and defend two players on my own..
- +1 y
@rUinSAYAN tagged.
- +1 y
@rUinSAYAN Well it was a draft tournament for the release of a new set I had never played with before. I did a little bit of research on the set beforehead, Journey into the Nyx, but I didn't have much control over what kind of deck to make because we just had to open a small number of booster packs and make a deck out of those. If they didn't divide the tournaments into different blocks and make most of them draft tournaments guys like me would just enter with overpowered decks and stomp all the n00bs and casuals.
- +1 y
@rUinSAYAN Well I'm no pro but I've built several overpowered decks over the years. Currently I've got an overpowered White Soldier deck that's got like too many cards in it. Basically it slaps enchantments on everything the opponent has like Pacifism, Burden of Guilt, etc. to make them useless, then uses cards like Sphere of Safety and Ethereal Armor that get more powerful the more enchantments you have on the field, all while spamming soldiers and powering them up.. Then I made a Blue and Green Primordial Hydra deck with a bunch of fogs, fog banks, clinging mists, and potions of immortality. Primordial Hydra's power and toughness double every turn, and all the other cards form a perfect defense, so it's easy to get one up really powerful with it and take out a player in one attack.
- +1 y
lol, this gal is gonna have one hell of a headache when she logs on again xD
- +1 y
@jointhepatriarchy I think a soldier deck can easily get turned down by massremoval/control decks. I have a infect deck for turn 2 wins, a blue/black control with infect dmg and a equip deck with stoneforgemistics n shit. I don't like that hydra as it's an easy target for counterspells and cheap removal
- +1 y
That's why I have 4 of them and 4 elixirs of immortality... But you're right, a couple of Murders or something can really fuck up that deck's swag.

I would always prefer for my girl to game. Like when I ask "you wanna play some minecraft" she would be more than happy to play. It isn't a need but defiantly something that's desriable. it would also benefit the fact that wony have to be a single way activity. You two can play and both have a great time.

+1 yDepends on the games you play. I'm always up for a round of StarCraft II.
But most people aren't. It's a dead game...
Anyways, it's all about time management. And if the female herself can invest time into playing video games. There are many who do.00 ReplyI assume you mean hardcore gamer? Someone who spends the majority of their free time playing games? A lot of people game nowadays because of social media games on Facebook or mobile games. More households have desktops and laptops and video game consoles are mainstream now.

(J) RPGs in general. Everything "Tales of" and Legend of Zelda. The Super Mario games with the gameplay style like in 64, Sunshine, Galaxy etc. And too many SNES games to mention. Basically a ton of Nintendo stuff, lol.
As for fighting games I really like Smash Bros and Soul Calibur and Marvel vs Capcom.
I don't do much computer gaming but I do love the Diablo games, and I've gotten into Steam lately too. - +1 y
+1 yI dated a girl gamer. I think my favourite part was how many nights per week she couldn't see me because it was raid night with her WoW guild. I went one better and now she sees me no nights per week, ever.
00 ReplyI want a gamer as a boyfriend so bad it's not even funny. LOL.
Actually, guys who aren't gamers probably wouldn't even be attracted to me, since gaming is such a huge part of my life. xD011 Reply- +1 y
What games do you play again?
- +1 y
@jointhepatriarchy So many... I mostly play RPG and survival horror lately, but I used to play games online. Some of my favorite games include: "Tales of" series, Resident Evil series, Silent Hill series, Clocktower series, Bioshock series, Eternal Sonata, Obscure, Rule of Rose, Haunting Ground, Warcraft series, Doom series, Valkyria Chronicles, Valkyrie Profile, Ico/Shadows of the Colossus, Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Fallout 3, SW:KOTOR, Spyro, Summoner, Siren, DoA series, Demon Souls, Dark Souls, Sims, Dragon Age, I could go on forever. xD
- +1 y
Well I've played a few Tales games, Eternal Sonata, Warcraft (though I prefer Starcraft), and the Dragon Age games.. I'm looking forward to Dragon Age Inquisition right now. I beat all the Tales games I played; Symphonia 1 & 2, Vesperia, Radiant Mythology, and also beat Eternal Sonata.
- +1 y
you should try The Last of Us
- +1 y
@jointhepatriarchy I've been playing Tales of Graces F which I love so far! I've also played.. Tales of the Abyss, Tales of Vesperia, and Tales of Legendia. I love all of them. I want to play Tales of Symphonia next, and Tales of Xillia. I've been looking forward to Final Fantasy 15. It looks so good. I hope it will exceed my expectations since they've made us wait for freaking ever! :p
- +1 y
Well I haven't played a good deal of the Tales games yet, but I personally think Tales of Symphonia 1 & 2 are the best of the series.. The second one is especially good because you can tame monsters in it like Pokemon and have them fight in your party. I bred some awesome dragons in it and raised them up to the max level. :3
- +1 y
@Negrodamus I want to!! I've heard it's so good!! I'll probably wait for it to go a bit cheaper, or just rent it, because I'm on a budget. :p
@Barbosa I did, I did! I haven't played the new one yet, though I want to. As I told Negrodamus.. I'm on a budget. xD
@jointhepatriarchy Really? That sounds cool! Is the story really good? I love games with a good story, which is probably why I like RPG and survival horror so much. :3 - +1 y
Yeah, both games have an excellent storyline.
+1 ydepends on how obsessed he is with gaming. if he's some kinda freak then no way. if its just a leisurely thing he does once in a while then yeah id b ok with it.
00 Replyi wouldn't but only if i was a gamer myself, i don't mind my boyfriend to play games, that way i can have my own time, but when games become more important than me that;s a dealbreaker
