It's as serious or unserious as you make it. There are guys on there who clearly just want to hook up, and there are some who are interested in more than that. You get a lot of messages; just sort through them. Out of 50 guys, you might find 10 that have the same goal as you, and 3-5 of those guys you're actually into.

Tinder is widely understood to be a "hookup" (for sex) website, and isn't exactly trying to sell romance or love.

If love is what you are looking for, then stick with OKCupid or eHarmony or whatever, and stay away from Tinder.
