Girls, Do Brazilian girls date white American guys?

I'm considering taking a temporary (2-year) work assignment in Brazil, but I'm wondering how Americans are received by Brazilian women. I know the two cultures are very different, like Brazilians are a lot more gregarious than Americans in general. Do Brazilain women date white American guys? In some countries we're seen as unwelcome outsiders, but I'm not sure about Brazil. Are white guys more popular among one ethnic in comparison to another there?

I guess that Brazilian girls are into white guys just the same as any other. Any thoughts on American guys in general?

I think there's a divide between white guys in general and latin girls. I have several latin friends, and they always tells me that white guys are wimps because they won't approach and don't take the lead. Plus, I don't think they like lighter skin as much.

Maybe ask a guy like you who's been there?

For what I see, Americans are welcomed in Brazil. I don't know if this information is useful, but once I saw on TV two Brazilian women whose husbands were American.
And I also can think about two famous couples composed by Brazilian women and American men.

I'm sure a lot of women would date Tom Brady for the money if nothing else, but I'm not going to be so lucky lol.

I wasn't talking about Tom Brady lol, but he's an example. And I wouldn't date him.
But yeah, I guess they like American men, and they like Americans in general. I'm used to see Brazilian shows, so my opinion is based on what I hear them saying.

Cool. I know Brazil is very mixed race, but some Latin and black people consider 'whiteness' to be a negative thing.

Yes, it really is. And that's what makes their country interesting! I would like to visit it someday.
I think they don't consider "whiteness" a negative thing. But, they have some racial issues.

I don`t know if you left already to Brazil but the thing is even if you don`t want to go to get married you will probably finish getting married anyway they are not regular girls believe me you will fell in love haha

Yeah, but will they want to date me? I've heard that Brazilian women aren't really into American guys.

yes, they probably will but guys need to be more direct my experience living in us was different since guys didn`t approach me (don`t know the reason maybe they were to shy or not interested ) but in Brazil they approach girls all the time you will need to show clearly interest and not be shy or afraid to be rejected and they might also not understand English what can be hard

I do understand the language barrier. But I'm still not clear if white American guys are desired by women there. I am going to be there for a minimum of two years if I commit to going there, and if Brazilian women are generally not attracted to white guys, it will be hell.

I have heard from some guys who work in my company that it's not good for white guys there because mixed guys/guys with darker skin are preferred by Brazilian women.

Americans are different they are very shy and don't express much about their feelings what make them look cold but they are great people, I am Brazilian and I like American guys but it was hard to get used to it

It's not that we're shy, it's just that American society is very individualistic. We stay to ourselves more and are not as openly social as other societies. I would actually like to be in a more social society, because it can be hard meeting people here.

So is it an uphill battle for American guys to date Brazilian women, like are Brazilian women naturally turned off by us?

I don`t think so, they are very attractive and I have some American friends that moved to Brazil forever because they loved the culture so it depends, you might love it or hate it probably love it the girls will be nice but try to not be individualist maybe smiling a lot will help haha

I know Brazilian women are attractive. They are considered so around the world, I wonder what they think of us. American white guys are not normally singled out as being attractive to a large percentage of the world's women.

@Asker I think you may have a tough time there. because I don't think girls in Latin America really don't like white American guys. You guys are seen as being kinda lame, like you're not really very passionate or forward and maybe not their physical type.

I'm Brazilian and Brazilian girls do date white guys. My aunty is married to a white guy so don't worry you will be received well haha

Umm it depends. When I was their most brazilian girls seem not to be interested in gringoes. They were more like a novelty then someone they would date.

What was your experience that made you draw that conclusion? My thing is that Brazil is very mixed-race, and they seem to culturally venerate the Latin and black influences. I'm neither. I'm a brown-haired, blue-eyed Slavic-American guy, so there's nothing Afro-Latin about me.

Trust me, Brazilian girls are just like ANY OTHER GIRLS ANYWHERE accept the fact that they're in Brazil. Brazilian women will date people of European decent.

I know a lot of guys *say* things like that about Brazil, but I'm skeptical because so many guys like to make themselves out to be something they're not on the internet. I've known one Brazilian girl during college, and she told me that a lot of the sex stories foreign guys tell about Brazil are just fantasies. She said that Brazilian girls are pretty picky like American girls, and that their culture is very body-focused, i. e. if you aren't in great shape girls will ignore you.
