Girls don't like guys who are rude and disrespectful. But a lot of the guys who are gentlemen are viewed as weak and not ambitious. And remember, these guys who are assholes never keep the girl, unless the girl enjoys being abused. The defining factor is confidence. Guys who treat girls poorly don't deserve them, so if you are a guy who does respect women, then it's up to you to also put some of that confidence into practice, the same as the d bags. They are so full of themselves, girls flock to confidence and think that he's interesting and fun. Can't you be those things while respecting women? Of course. Don't worry about what other guys are doing, worry about improving yourself and being the best you can.

Regardless of what else comes with the two examples. Unfortunately for your friend (?) though, he seems to have some other qualities girls don't typically like.

Now if you can be nice, exciting, and confident, then you are doing pretty good. If you are just nice, you need to step your game up.

The kind of assholes some, particularly inexperienced, girls like are guys who have a lot of (what appears to other guys) unjustified confidence, Girls without experience seem to have a difficult time telling authentic guys from poseurs, that or they don't really care, the attitude just triggers something. I never really got how women could supposedly have this fine tuned sensibility and then fall for an obvious fraud other guys can spot a mile off.
