What are the signs of an attention whore?

A friend and mine had a small debate over what an attention whore actually is. She's trying to tell me there's different "levels" to being an attention seeker, while I think most of them are fairly similar, from my experience anyways

For example, all of the attention whores I've known have basically done the same thing:
- have a lot of friends, including of the opposite sex that they flirt with or just talk to a lot and get attention from
- very active on social media, post a lot of pics, status updates, etc, that they know people will reply to or "like" or retweet or whatever
- with specific people that they know are interested they might blow hot and cold, doing enough to keep that person's attention and affection but without committing to anything. They might text a lot, talk a lot at school/work/whatever, even hang out with other friends or do platonic things, but never anything romantic
- even if they have an SO, they'll still have people of the opposite sex they talk to/flirt with because they simply like the attention. Or their SO is long-distance, not giving them enough attention or emotional validation, etc. They won't leave their SO, but they get the best of both worlds this way
- might talk about their problems to everyone, whether it's for sympathy, drama, or something else
- fish for compliments

Some of the things u listed are just traits of extroverted people. I would just say a person that defines himself over what other people thing about them.
They try (sometimes desperately) to get as much attention as possible. Can make them look cheap. (Girl that dresses slutty guy that strips at a party or uses every possibility to take his shirt off or show off his muscles) Doing stupid things that make people laugh at them just for the attention.
And yes I think there are different levels.
The more they try to get as much attention as possible and the more desperate they get the more they are a attention whore.
They get happiness from other people looking and talking to them. Hate the most when they are getting ignored

There's extroverted people, and there's people who fish for attention, which is what the stuff I listed is talking about. I know extroverted people who don't constantly post selfies or make themselves the center of everything

You still miss a few thing. Once you make a critism, they easily get triggered. They love to control people. They always brag about themselves eventhough they have no talents.
