My ex-boyfriend added me on Instagram, does he want me back?

we have been broken up and in no contact for 4 months and then he randomly added me back on instagram (since that is the only social media I have and he doesn't have a phone line). He added me and we didn't talk for a week and then he commented on something I posted. I invited him to something and he agreed to come but then the event got cancelled so that was the last time we spoke. He ALWAYS looks at my story and pictures now and I want to invite him to something else but I am scared to. Would it be weird for me to ask him to something else again? I miss him and I think he misses me too but I'm not sure since the breakup was very emotional.

He doesn't necessarily want to get back together, just return some normalcy to the relationship between you two.

Nah, and that would be a good way to determine if he really does want something more again. I think hanging out occasionally would provide some relief for both of you.

I'm still good friends with about half of my exes. I prefer to keep things on good terms no matter what, and it's worked for the most part so far.
