Jeez.. I never dated a girl who study that but I remember once I argued with one girl and she started using her psychology shit against me :/
There are some people like that, but, once we figure out what it is that we actually want to do with our lives, we usually become pretty focused on using our knowledge for good.I might still occasionally pull rank on someone who pisses me off, but, more often than not, if I'm talking about psychology these days, then in is either me sharing my dream or trying to spread awareness and inform people about disorders and mental health care. For me, and for a lot of us planning on entering some form of clinical or counciling path, one of the most important things for us is fighting ignorance and trying to destigmatize the mental health care field. We aren't psychics or weird Freud knockoffs, we're professionals at teaching people to sort their shit out for themselves and giving them a boost at times when they hit a roadblock. Our clients aren't "crazy loons," they're just people; anyone can benefit from therapy. And diagnosis are just that a diagnosis, not some kind of scarlet letter.
But people apply everything they learnt in their major.
Bro it's the end of term. No one is thinking about class
