Well yeah, the sooner the better. I’m engaged now but back when I was actively dating and tried the apps, the few guys I met I preferred having a day within the first few days of meeting. I’ve always been very intentional with my time and don’t want it to be wasted if I can help it. I didn’t like doing a lot of texting, maybe a light exchange before I’d like to make plans to hang out. That way if we don’t click in person then it’s literally no hard feelings because no feelings were invested. Nothing at all was invested yet and that was my preference. Things get complicated otherwise.

What made you originally match with these guys in the first place out of curiosity?

I gave them a chance to talk based off their bios, their pictures, and how they introduced themselves to me.

What made you choose your now fiancé over these other candidates?

Good question! Well when I met him I’d been single for almost a year and hadn’t used any apps for months. But one of the main reasons I gave him a real chance was his consistency with his efforts. Usually guys start one way and then gradually slide into doing something different or stopping entirely. He never switched up and he was very intentional with me. No mixed signals, no games.

Did he like you first on the app or did you like him?

Oh I didn’t meet him online! Funny story, we actually ran into each other twice lol. The first time was at one bar in our hometown, he was with a mutual I hadn’t seen since high school and he introduced us. I was having a girls night and was really burnt out on men so I wasn’t giving him the time of day. Second time was again at a bar in town and I felt like it was just too much of a coincidence and gave him my number then. From there he was continually consistent with his efforts. At the time he lived about an hour away, and I didn’t drive, but he’d drive down either after work or on a day off and we’d go out on some sort of a date.
