How long is a while to a guy?

If a guy happened to say he's liked a girl for a while, about how long would that be in a time span?

I'm sure you know this already, but guys and girls are just people. If you used the words "a while," it doesn't necessarily mean the same as, let's say, your friend. Same with guys. My while can mean at least 4 months, but another person can be referring to a year. There is too much ambiguity in the phrase to mean much.

Actually it might help. What you're saying is for guys in your age range, "a while" could mean a few months to a year or so, not decades.

Not at all... What I'm saying are people are individuals, and every person is different. Every single person means something else by "a while." You can't clump guys at an age range, or guys for that matter into a single category...

Put it this way. A guy who is 20 is not in the position to state anything beyond two decades as "a while". That doesn't even take into account the moment he was able to start uttering his first words.
