Should alpha women be with beta men?

I'm a go-getting, take charge woman. I work smart so I don't have to work hard. I love living a free life, and have never really had a problem finding men that will let me hold the frame of the relationship.

When I find a man of value, I make it my business to be a great woman for him, but I don't cook or clean for him just for the purpose of "I'm the woman and I do this and he's the man so he does that." I do cook and clean sometimes but I do it when I want to. I don't let men into my life who expect me to live to a standard that they don't want to live by themselves, so men who are willing to also do some cooking and cleaning are by far more attractive to me.

Men with beta qualities have been the better choice for me. Alpha type men always want to compete with me and try to win the power struggle and that's never good. I just want to encourage alpha women to give beta guys a chance. They can blow you away and be magnificent lovers and they don't mind letting you take the lead.

People typically date people within their own wavelength. By definition, I'd most likely fit the criteria of alpha. I've been in leadership positions throughout my life and I'm successful. Most guys look up to me and I have women throwing themselves at me. That's not self-praise but rather a logical answer to validate what I'm saying here. I have never once thought about dating a timid or feeble minded girl. Someone like that would just hold me back in life. I want someone on my own wavelength in whom I can actually connect with. If an alpha male threatens your own sense of self-value, then you aren't very alpha. Your value is inflatable and therefore dependent upon other's approval and status. Alpha's tend to love the competitiveness and don't cower down to it.

This is an excellent example of why most men do not like women like you. It's not that men are threatened by "strong women"... they just find them fundamentally unattractive and don't enjoy their company.

No offence meant... there's nothing wrong with you. It's just that you demonstrate very clearly how it's impossible for two alphas to be happy together. Most men are alphas, and most women are attracted to men with alpha characteristics but yet they don't want them to behave like alphas in a relationship, which is totally unrealistic.

Who made up that rule? There is a real definition of alpha and beta and it's simply a word to describe one's behavior and demeanor within a social dynamic. One of my good friends from the Marine Corps was in MARSOC which is special forces. These are the guys that you see in video games. Most women don't actually seem to respect beta men even when they think that's what they want so often it just doesn't work. Although there will be exceptions I don't think it's in our nature generally to have the woman lead. I suppose it depends on whether you can actually respect a guy who allows you to take the lead.

I don't think that's possible for a lot of women because it goes against their nature - in general women prefer dominant men. You mentioned in another comment that men are taught to expect certain things in a woman and to act a certain way - I'd say that the same is true today of women. They're taught that they should be strong and independent, never to allow a man to dominate them, and in many cases are taught to look down on traditional women and the traditional role. They're supposed to want a beta guy. Yet still, the most common sexual fantasy of women is to be dominated by an alpha. For many, while they would arguably be better off with a beta, they just don't find those guys sexually attractive and they struggle to really respect such a guy no matter what a great guy he is.

The female main character in the movie is actually the one is is dominant. Even in that movie, she reacts negatively when he tries to control her outside of the bedroom. I wouldn't say that's true either. Women don't tend to want to be dominated by betas, nor do they tend to respect a guy they can control for this reason. I think there's also a big difference between being dominant and being domineering like the guy in 50 shades. Most women will react negatively to a guy like that. I'm the more dominant one in my relationship both in and out of the bedroom, and I don't get negative reactions because I'm not an asshole about it. From what I've seen also in other people's relationships, when the guy is the more dominant one the woman might sometimes complain about certain things, but she still loves the guy and does things for him. But in others where the guy is more beta and she wears the trousers it's different. You can usually tell she doesn't respect him by how she talks down to him, won't do anything for him no matter how good he is to her, and those are the guys more likely to get cheated on.
