I think that a relationship should be a joint effort between the guy and girl. It all depends on their strengths and weaknesses. The guy may suck at managing money, so they decide to let her manage their spending. The girl may always be ready to do something fun, but the guy may be tired from work a lot of times, so they figure out what they want to do together that they'll both enjoy. I think a healthy balance of compromise, tolerance, and open communication would make for a good relationship.
