Unmatched after first date?

Last night I had my first date with a guy I met on Bumble. I thought it went well, and when he walked me to my car he said we'll talk soon. A few minutes after we parted ways, he messaged me in the app to ask for my number. I gave it to him when I got home and he texted shortly after saying he had fun. I replied to thank him for the drinks and to concur I had a good time.

Then today I was telling a friend about the date and she asked for a picture of him. I went into the app to screenshot one of his photos, but realized he was no longer in my list of matches...

So, my question is: would a guy really ask for a girl's number and text her after a date if he wasn't interested? What gives?
