He wants me to fly out to see him. How do I know he's seriously invested?

I met a guy at a wedding a month and a half ago. We hit it off and have talked every day since, even though we're 11 hours apart. He mentioned a few times wanting me to fly to visit him. How do I know that he's serious/invested? What are your general opinions or advice?

We haven't discussed cost. I'm assuming I would pay for the ticket and he would take care of whatever happens there.

I think him flying out, instead of you, would be a surefire way for him to show his interest and devotion. But there is always a risk for the relationship to fall through. I don't think It's worth the trip unless you know for sure he wants you and you want him.

It's just hard because he lives in a fun/cool city and I live in the middle of nowhere where there is nothing to do. I do agree with meeting in the middle too
