Depends on the guy's personality. maybe he prefers to talk because it's more personal than just a text, but then again maybe he just doesn't have text. Besides, you gave your number to him for a reason: you want to keep in contact.

In a relation I prefer calls than texts...he like to call means he wants to talk with you innocently..it is possible to lie during texting...
