He can go weeks with no contact, only to pop up if there is something he needs. Then during that time, he would chat/call for hourss talking about random stuff (aside from his main intention)

I know it's hard, but I wouldn't take his periodic long chats as meaning anything real. To me it sounds like he views you more as an option to kill time with when it's convenient for him.

The fact that he can go weeks completely ghosting you shows he's probably talking to other girls too and you're not really a priority. A guy who was really feeling you would want to talk to you way more often, trust!

If I were you, I wouldn't put too much stock in this dude. Let him hit you up, but don't go chasing after him or waiting by your phone hoping for a text. Live your life and don't be so available all the time either.
