Are braces a dealbreaker?

I just went on a date, had great conversations all night long and it was a lot of fun. But he had braces (i didn't know this beforehand). He's also 25. Should this be a dealbreaker?

Assuming that you are talking about dental braces and not leg braces, then that's a temporary thing until his teeth are straightened and they'll likely be off within months or at most a year or two.

I would certainly not consider that a deal breaker. It shows that he takes some pride in his appearance and is will to deal with short term inconvenience for long term benefits. I think both of those things are good qualities so in terms of character, I think you should probably view them as a positive and not a negative.

If they're unappealing in terms of his appearance now, then I guess you'll have to decide whether it's a big enough issue that you want to pass up the opportunity to get to know him well enough to determine if you are a good match and could be happy together in the long term (which would be long after the braces are off).

Think positive that he gives importance enough to the spacing and alignment of his teeth. Once those braces come off, his straightened out pearly whites will be attracting more girls than he can fend off.

Braces? Like the ones for your teeth? I don't think anything is wrong with them. They just fix up your teeth a bit. When I was little I thought they were teeth jewelry.
