Absolutely not. I am totally against violence and knowing that there is a gun in the house makes me uneasy and even worse if the guy carries it concealed.
I know where my limits are but can I trust a person with a weapon (other than the one that interests me!).
If I go on a first date, I expect romance, butterflies in my stomach, a glass of wine and a perhaps a good dinner but not a gun to accompany this meal.
I would be even more uncomfortable going to his place alone, not really knowing the person and his background. I would leave it at the first date at the restaurant and seek for someone that does not need to carry a firearm to get romantic with a girl.
@6942Dom To me a person that needs to carry a concealed firearm does not give me confidence in that person. That is a person that prefers to shoot first before trying to deescalate a situation with negotiation.
It is a known fact that violence calls for violence. Furthermore, I will never ever go to a person's place after the first, 2nd or 3rd date without fully assessing that person to make sure he poses no physical threat to me. And what more proof of a potential physical threat do you need, knowing the person is in possession of a gun that he/she might aim against you, should you get into an argument with that person.
What disturbs me in your fist sentence is that you seem to think that I only should go to his place IF he carries a gun. Or did I misinterpret your sentence "... you're just fine going g to a guy's place alone if he doesn't carry?"
So when someone enters a building and starts shooting, you're going to deescalate by talking?
Yes, violence calls for violence. And my firearm is the violence in response of their violence.
There is a difference in just carrying a gun and legal concealed carry. The frost, yes I'd watch out for them too.
A permit holder should set you a ease even more. They've been through a law enforcement background check. Which means they don't have warrants, they don't have any domestic violence's charges, and never been convicted of anything over a speeding ticket. Which means that would be the person you'd want to date and feel safe with.
The only thing a gun says about them, is that they are willing to do something about bad people doing bad things. Including dying to save your life. Yeah totally not some one you'd want to date.
@6942Dom Well, I respect your opinion of course. Guns are not the primary responsible ones for the massacres in our society. How come those crimes mainly occur in the US?
But don't you worry about me! We would therefore not be a match for a first or subsequent dates.
I just hope for your sake that you will never have to use your firearm and kill a person. It was nice chatting to you just the same.
@6942Dom You have possibly a point. But your arguments will not change my point of view. I wish you the best in your life and pray that a child will never come between you and your firearm.
I just know that I would not be able to live with that horror scenario. Just imagine this little body lying in a dark alley and you bending over this dying life and looking at you with his/her innocent yes, just silently asking "why?" before closing them forever!
Sure... because there's strength in numbers!!!
i would not date a women with a firearm... but i'd go to an nra party.
you want to know why?
NRA seem more responsible and don't think out of emotion.
women do thing based on emotion. All it takes is for me to open the door for her and she'll pull that trigger on me.
Therefore i'd be more safer in a room with 50 guns than with a women with only 1
Being a pair of calm, disciplined martial artists who legally carry would be freaking awesome in my opinion. Worrying about her safety if/when I'm not around/can't defend her would be 1 burden lifted from my shoulders.
If she's willing isn't 1 who already does, being with her will be great if she's willing to learn.

I would prefer that he does. My parents both carry, they do not leave the house without a gun. It's too dangerous. There was a bank robbery a mile away from me where the robber (carrying a gun) was shot by a customer. My dad has been attacked. I've been followed home by strangers. We've had full on riots at the neighbor's in the past. I'd rather my man carried a gun. I will as soon as I'm able.
I think it is illegal in my country. Otherwise it depends on the temperament of the guy. If he is calm and collected, even when frustrated or angry, yes, I'd be okay with it. Otherwise I wouldn't feel safe with a guy with a gun in his pocket. That said, I would have carried myself if my country allowed it.
It's not allowed where I'm from. But I'd prefer if he doesn't. I don't think I'd feel safe around someone who does. He'd have to be a 100% calm and collected person. And it should be for safety reasons. I don't think I could be with someone who kills animals for fun
Probably not but if my husband started doing it I would try to get used to it... but if I went on a date with someone who brings a gun everywhere with them I probably wouldn't be interested in anymore dates. Especially if they insisted on telling me they were carrying and bragged about it and stuff
If it’s concealed, yes. I think guys who open carry look kind of douchebag-ish.
@6942Dom
Yep. If a criminal has a gun, and he wants to shoot a few people, he's gonna take out the biggest threat first which will be the guy open carrying. The criminal also has the advantage of the element of surprise, he can shoot the other guy before the other guy has enough time to react, unless he's a complete idiot he isn't gonna give any warning beforehand. Action is always faster than reaction. It's better to be the "grey man" and not draw attention to yourself in those situations.
Yes, I would actually prefer to date a man who carries as long as he is responsible about it.
Not likely to happen here. Concealed carry permits are hard to get.
But, it would really depend on the situation for me.
Maybe, I don't know. It's not something I've ever thought about since concealed carry isn't allowed here.
Lol I wonder who the downvote is from. That's hilarious because it's not like I made up that law myself.
Carries one? Never
Owns one but keeps it at home? Yes
It doesn't do any good locked in a box on the top shelf in the closet.
There's no point having it if I have to drive home to go get it.
Yeah, sure, in times of peace. When life is good and no one is attacking you.
Those times don't last, little sister. They come to a sudden and brutal halt for thousands of people all over the world every single day. In the time that it takes you to read this post, how many people are being mugged, raped, shot, kidnapped, or WORSE?
It could happen to anyone. It could happen to you. When seconds count, how many minutes do you want it to take your husband to pull out a gun and do something about it?
Did you know that when Mollie Tibbetts was killed, she was found with an ear of corn lodged deep inside her rectum? That's what actually killed her, she bled to death internally from a perforated colon. Took about eight minutes. The guy who did it was "raping" her with the ear of corn. Then he left her to be found that way.
There's more guys out there like that, you know. They're roaming about.
If I didn't know before we were dating and only just found out about it, I'd be very uneasy about it. Depending on the reasons the partner has for it may or may not persuade me to leave it.
No. I own guns myself and grew up hunting, but carrying a gun constantly says a lot about the guy.
if you wear a firearm, you better are a policeman or a security, guy xD
ok or a redneck who only cares to attract reneck women xD
It should be okay
Well it should depend on the person too if he is a responsible man or not
Not if she has a phobia of firearms. Otherwise it's not relevant.
Is he authorized to conceal carry? Cause if he's not I don't think any woman should date such a guy.
Yes women love white guys despite the mass murdering
I'd date a girl that carries for sure
Nope.
xx

Yep! Esp if he knows how to to use it
Oh hell no
Good luck in your next shoot-out!
I wouldn't trust a woman with a water pistol
I would want my girlfriend to carry a firearm.
I carry. My wife loves that I do.
No, that's creepy.
