1. Always be growing at an "exciting" rate so that he's in constant competition with other men.
2. Never show neediness. He has to be valued higher than her so that she's dependent on him.
This causes them a lot of pain/anger, but the arguments are often convincing. Therefore they become bitter, pursue self growth, but limit their expectations on romantic love. Some go as far as avoiding women all together, but I think most just avoid commitment. They form trust issues.
Are these cynical points? Or realistic to human desire?
