Why do boyfriends get upset if their girlfriend is showing a bit of skin?

I’ve noticed that my boyfriend gets uncomfortable with me showing skin. For example, I wore a top yesterday with a sports bra underneath - now for me this is nothing too revealing although it is a bit more on the sexy side - I wore this outfit with a pair of jeans so it’s not like my legs were out aswell and I don’t have a big chest anyway - you could just see a bit of my belly aswell. He kept mentioning to me to pull my top up as it kept riding down every so often. I’ve also noticed he doesn’t like me weakening minis much and thinks it’s a bit too much show to get from men. Is he just really jealous or what? I thought men like if they’re women dress hot (within reason of course)

Couple things here... He could be uncomfortable with is because he feels like you might be trying to get attention from other guys, he could just want all you to himself, he could be jealous of other guys looking at you, he could be not confident in himself and think other guys might take you away. I would say more than likely he loves you looking sexy he just doesn’t want other guys to look at you and think sexual things about you and flirt with you. The best thing you can do it just reassure him a lot that you are all his and you love him so much.

I'd say it can be for a few reasons. He might be insecure and don't want guys going for you.

Personally when thinking back on my ex who is from a quite traditional culture I was imagining her in a bikini and quickly thought fuck no because I know how guys would look at her. It made me feel a bit disgusted knowing that they would look at her in a way. It was uncomfortable thinking about.
So maybe he feels similar like I did not feeling comfortable with guys watching you and thinking about you sexually.

Yeah he said when I wear like this it’s like those girls who are trying to show too much. And he’s said straight up to m she doesn’t like guys looking at me... and he asked me back do you like girls looking at me? And I think this is where we are different. I am jealous of other girls and him but not when where on the street together and they look at him

It's maybe not that he is jealous but maybe similar to how I felt. It was very uncomfortable knowing that guys would look at her with sexual thoughts. It's something I didn't want for her since I know what guys think.

I don't know how to solve your problem but I think communication is always the key and coming up with a compromise.

How is it showing off? My personality doesn’t change just because I’m dressed a bit more up. My eyes are still for him. If he was the same I wouldn’t feel bad I’d feel good, I always feel good walking with him. If another girl looks I know it’s because he’s cute
