Guys, what are your reasons for friendzoning a girl?
That's what happened to me. The guy I was seeing put my hopes up, lead me on and broke my heart. He decided he only wanted to be friends and never take it to the next level. He insisted in wanting to date me at first. He practically begged me for a week and even showed up at my job, so I felt bad and said yes.
I was getting over an abusive relationship and we were going to take it slow. I ended up really liking him because he broke down my walls and was there for me.
After he saw I was falling for him it turns out he wasn't over his ex and ended up saying that no one would compare to her. I decided to reman friends because I thought he would change his mind... I regret not walking away at this point. He turned out to be the devil. He was obsessed with the ex-girlfriend and other girls in the past. He would hurt me talking about all of these girls, especially when he would compare me. He verbally, emotionally and physically abused as his friend.
We never even kissed because he said I was ugly and fat. He would compare me to other girls out in the streets. The list goes on of how he lacked empathy. It would shock you if I continue listing what he did. Suicide and death threats if I left.
I know this is an extreme form of rejection, but I'm afraid to ever date anyone else. This guy got tactics of my ex and used it against me in a worse way. He friendzoned me like my ex in a brutal way... except that I did have a chance with my ex. I will for now on not overshare my life.
I just hope if I choose to date again, I won't get rejected again in that way. I really don't know what is normal guy behavior. My dad was abusive as well towards my mom and I.
It's been almost a year and I'm still traumatized about all of this. I'm saving myself until marriage, so the likelyhood of finding someone who is serious about me is small. I guess that's why I'm asking this question because I don't know what normal look like anymore.
