Does smoking weed affect communication skills?

I've never smoked marijuana longterm so I can't give long time experience. But the few times I have done it I was definitely in my own headspace. I was always with a friend smoking and just talking. Thinking about the most random ass shit and got the munchies. My phone for the most part was the last thing on my mind. That said, I still texted my girlfriend at the time and it didn't take hours and hours or days. That's why I'd say it's probably more to do with how he feels about texting, rather than the fact he was smoking. Sure, that does have an effect, but it wouldn't stop him from doing so much more than if he were entirely sober.
I'm thinking he just don't want to feel bound down to his phone, to respond to your texts all day long. Some people would just rather not be bothered and keep texting down to a minimum even if they love someone. I'd say think about how you're using your texting to communicate with him. Are you doing it to make plans, make him feel good by being flirtatious, showing him cool stuff that he would enjoy or are you just talking about random bullshit that could be left for later?
I don't know. Most of the people I knew who smoked weed were actually extremely sociable and very good communicators. You can see that as well in celebrities like Joe Rogan, Bill Maher (at least I think their communication skills are quite good). Then again I only knew very extroverted types who smoked weed in the US, and I don't know how they were like before to compare the difference.
If we're talking about when you're actually high, I only tried it a few times but definitely, when I was high, my communication skills probably plummeted. The first time I tried weed, I kept complimenting a girl on her toenails over and over. I usually don't think toenails are interesting at all. :-D
Hahaha maybe he's just an introvert.

It does. It slows your process time. You need to concentrate more on the conversation than other times. In a way it does. But in other ways it improves the communication. You laugh a lot more, you go deeper into a conversation, you get stuck on smaller details. Its brings a more wider prespective.
Yes
I have a few family members that have become a bit of pot heads since they got their card for anxiety issues. Anyway, I have definitely noticed a significant personality change and loss of basic communication.
Many of my freinds smoke regularly 2 or 3 times per day and in comincafion with them they are being rtd they forgot what they say
