It can, but if you’ve seen many models’ photoshoots, they’re not necessarily smiling. I think they have more of a smirk or chic (SHēk) facial expression. I think it really depends on the context. If you’re already a handsome man, smiling or not smiling won’t make too much of a difference. If you’re wanting to attract women, smiling can diffuse any threatening or scared thoughts in her head and see you as friendly.

A natural smile that isn’t forced, yes. Smiles are one of the main ways a human communicates friendliness. When you frown it’s like a rattlesnake hissing. It’s a warning that you’re not safe and might bite if someone comes close.

It’s not attractive in a sexual way. It’s platonically attractive. It makes you look safe, friendly and approachable. Frowns do the opposite.

depends, if you want to look more serious looking and that’s attractive to you then no. but if you want to look more friendly then yes, smiling is a good way to go. also it depends on facial features, you may look really attractive smiling or really awful

It’s actually the opposite for me. Smiling is definitely a sign of friendliness but default facial expression are usually sexier to me. My hypothesis is because it’s usually the face I will end up seeing the most often. Not because I will prevent her from smiling but it is unrealistic to expect someone to be smiling 24/7 as well as it would creep a lot of people out.

In Russia, they think that smiling all the time for no reason is a sign of stupidity.  They find it more attractive if you are stoic and reserved, it shows maturity and seriousness.
