Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yI've been watching MGTOW and Red Pill videos for a while on you tube and have "interacted" with some of the men in the comment sections. Some men are very hard core. Some of the more extreme stuff is women are money sucking whores and the feminist movement has ruined us. Some of the men in this group have completely stopped having interactions with women. A few seem full of rage.
https://youtu.be/mPzpCWM4BCA
The second group seem more to be the men who still want interactions with women but on a very superficial level or in non committed relationship. They aren't going to have long term relationship and tend to be more into casual sex. Some promote the dating of women in their 20s because they don't have the baggage of older women and they are more pliable emotionally. Many of these men have gone through really bad divorces where their wives took the money and the kids so they feel pretty much cleaned out. The extreme men in this grouping believe in the pump and dump.
The last group are the men who just seem a bit lost. They skirt on the outside of this group. Listen to some of the ideas but not fully immersed. Either they are going to become full fledged MGTOW or Red Pill men or they will leave.
The MGTOW is men going their own way where as Red Pill men still will be with women. I think I might have mixed them together a bit. Red Pill men tend to be anti feminist, pro dating younger, some say don't marry until you are at least 40 and marry younger, money and power is considered the only things that women naturally find attractive in a man and alpha males are better than being a beta male. Any type of sensitivity shown by a man then he's considered a beta male so he's considered weaker. Oh and a lot don't want kids. Again I might have overlapped Red Pill men with MGTOW men.
I'd definitely ask his views about male female relationship or something of that nature to see how Red Pill he is. Some of these guys aren't bad just trying to figure what they are supposed to be doing as a man. Maybe some lack of mentoring from older men.17 Reply
Asker+1 yThank you for elaborating!! I'm afraid if I ask him right away it'll scare him off. I'm going to wait it out, maybe hang out with him a few more times before asking him anything along those lines. Maybe he just wants to be friends, at least now I know what to look out for.
Opinion Owner+1 yThere are two sides to this "story". There are really some angry women who think all men are dogs and who are very bitter. Some continue to date and some swear off men all together. They seem to be two sides of the same coin, On both sides they've experienced some bad break ups or rejection but it is how they have dealt with it that might not be the most well balanced way. Now some people will probably argue that being MGTOW or Red Pill is the real way one should live.
Asker+1 yI can't agree with either side of the coin. I've gone through terrible break ups & I've been in bad relationships & I've experienced rejection but that doesn't mean I judge all men off one diseased individual. I know a man doesn't complete if I get rejected I know that there's someone out there who won't, who will love me I'll love them. There are a lot of good people in the world
Opinion Owner+1 yI'm the same way as you but in my age group 50+ there are some bitter women. Not all but some. It isn't just about break ups it is just they are bitter about life. That applies to some 50+ men too. They tend to take out their pissiness out on other people. It is years of unresolved issues they haven't deal with.
Opinion Owner+1 yOops I just saw we are in the same age group. All I can say is therapy can be a good thing. I was angry after my divorce but I was able to process it and release it. It isn't in my nature to hold in that much anger.
Asker+1 yI think possibly these people have not matured, there probably is no thought process or any logic behind their decision making. I used to be naive but eventually I started practicing meditation and learned to accept myself and other people for who they are but that doesn't mean that you let someone disown you and treat you like crap.

+1 yYes. If you want to get married one day, say by by to him. The tyoe of red pill guys can differ from person to person. The mtgtow movement men are the same way. a lot just view that the system screws men over, so they have no problem being in a relationship. But they aren't having kids or getting married anytime soon. On the other hand, you have the men that are in short term, grade a, assholes. But I highly recommend staying away from men like that.

+1 yAs a MGTOW monk, I find it extremely amusing how so many geniuses give their gospel fake answers for MGTOW. First of all MGTOW is not a movement, it is a philosophy. And it being a philosophy is exactly why MGTOW can't ever be controlled or shut down.
MGTOW men know the game is rigged against men and boys know it, too. Hint's why TGTOW exist. There are even pre teens joining the philosophy.
MGTOW is for the protection of men and MGTOW as it stands is already in the many millions as well as world wide. I was MGTOW monk long before I ever heard of the acronym MGTOW, 1986 was the year I went my own way. And no despite some of the genius answers you've been getting, not all MGTOW men hate women and not all MGTOW men are against having children. I don't hate women, I just don't want anything more to do with them in this dangerous society that exist for men. Men that are foolish enough to still date are literally playing Russian Roulette. I just like probably 99% of MGTOW men, also love children, having children was always my dream, only all that's left of it now is only the fantasy remains it's not even possible. Millions of MGTOW men have lost their children in family courts that extorts them with the use of their own children only then to have their children turned against them on top of that by the women that hold a gun to their head constantly. And when the courts says those men haven't made enough to pay for their children, such as they've changed jobs can't meet the same pay, those men are sent to prison and labeled deadbeat dads.
Then you have the media and the system constantly demonizing and vilifying men along with the feminist that have implemented such a system.
To sum it up, MGTOW is about protecting men, and the red pill is the reason men need to be protected.25 Reply- +1 y
Philosophy and movement are not mutually exclusive, genius.
Spreading your “philosophy” to men and preteen boys who have not had much success with women as of yet is just plain dangerous and speaks to a bitterness inside you. As the old saying goes, misery loves company. So whether it’s a philisophy or a movement, allow people to figure out for themselves through their own experiences. The pride you take in going your own way since 1986 is both alarming and saddening and in many ways extremely detrimental to the men and boys you’ve got listening to your rhetoric.
If you are hoping to protect the rest of the males of the world, Allow them all to have and form their own experiences and opinions. Praising men and young boys for choosing MGTOW before having had their own experiences with women is more dangerous than anything you proclaim society, the courts and government is doing to men.
I’ve had great successes and insane failures with women and even dragged through the courts by women but I still and will always choose women and respectful relationships with women. it’s what makes the world, as a whole, a better place to live. The MGTOW thing whether movement, philosophy or both, does not. - +1 y
@MyExperience be careful, common sense in this forum can be very dangerous.
- +1 y
@MyExperience You say this as if I have been forcing men or boys to go their own way. Guess what? They come looking for MGTOW, I'm not going to them. And they do it for a reason too. That reason is because they are smart enough to figure out society and the system are rigged against them and they do it without any help all on their own which was how I became MGTOW 32 years ago way before I ever heard the acronym. And with all this good advice you have to offer, why aren't you telling feminist this? They were the ones that started the whole thing, rigged the laws against men, it's not men's fault.
But that's not all, someone else knew about MGTOW well over a thousand years before MGTOW existence. Take a look at the following, it's called Prophecy, genius.
Isaiah 4:1
In that day seven women will take hold of one man and say, “We will eat our own food
and provide our own clothes; only let us be called by your name. Take away our disgrace!”
Isaiah 13:12 An Oracle Concerning Babylon. I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity. I will end the haughtiness of the arrogant and humiliate the pride of tyrants. I will make man scarcer than pure gold, and mankind rarer than the gold of Ophir. Therefore I will make the heavens tremble, and the earth will be shaken from its place at the wrath of the LORD of Hosts on the day of His burning anger.…

ever heard the saying it’s better to be quiet and thought the fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt? You should heed that advice.
Feminists do not rig laws, Congress creates laws.
As for your whole prophecy and Isaiah 4:1, well that just speaks to your own ignorance for interpreting scripture as MGTOW That said, if you can’t see the importance in suggesting men and boys form opinions from their own experiences, please do go your own way, far from this forum and the oft misguided and impressionable youth here. - +1 y
@SarahsSummer wise words beyond your years and practically the response I was about to give this poor soul.

+1 yThey're not quite the same thing.
Red pill (I can't stand their use of that term from The Matrix, a film I love) online communuties promote the idea that women want to be or should be treated as inferior, and that this is how relationships should work.
'Men Going Their Own Way' is similarly anti-feminist but based on what I have gathered, it instead proposes that men should avoid relationships and friendship with women, based on a belief that relationships and society are biased against men. So the same beliefs as red pill dating, but a different conclusion.
They both have something in common: these online communities isolate men from society. Instead of learning to interact and empathise with women, they get encouraged and rewarded for posting misogynist thoughts.
The sad thing is that they can attract otherwise decent people. Often, someone only needs to be mildly fed up of not having a girlfriend and wanting some alternative dating advice... that's how they got drawn in.24 Reply

(The sad thing is that they can attract otherwise decent people), one of the biggest myth's about MGTOW. Go tell that to Leonardo DiCaprio or any of the doctors, lawyers, CEO's or engineers etc.

And no, men are being MGTOW without even knowing the acronym exist simply by the actions of feminism and the system. I was MGTOW and monk for the better part of 32 years before I ever heard of it.

@ThisAndThat The question and my answer weren't about those who are single for voluntary reasons -- the discussion was about online subcultures.

MGTOW doesn't see women as lesser beings, but tries to tell "Men Go Their Own Way". The idea is that men following MGTOW do not want to deal with the stereotypical bad sides of a relationship. For instance in MGTOW, men will require girls to buy their own things, rather than guys buying them things.
I don't think MGTOW has bad intentions in mind, and if you enjoy being with the person I'd say just keep on going. But from my experience a large majority of the people following the MGTOW movement tend to be anti-women, or they believe in extreme ideologies. And even if they don't, they tend to take the MGTOW way too seriously, and treat relationships as if there are two individuals rather than one couple.
I don't want to give MGTOW shit, but it tends to attract the bad kind of people.11 Reply

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yMGTOW stands for Men Going Their Own Way. It would be contradictory for a man to date a woman if he was "going his own way". You don't have to avoid men like that because they are avoiding you.
12 Reply- +1 y
So his own way cannot include dating? Does not sound like "his own way" but yours.
Opinion Owner+1 y@Liam_Hayden It's literally what the movement has become. You're correct, I do have my own way and it doesn't include following some ambiguous cult full of old men.
Anonymous(18-24)+1 yIt’s no different then a feminist woman
